Lake Ossipee is the fifth largest lake in the Lakes Region covering a total of 3,254 acres and is 73 feet deep at the deepest point. A total of 6 towns surround Ossipee Lake: Freedom, Effingham, Madison, Sandwich, Tamworth, and Ossipee. Ossipee has two covered bridges to check out in Ossipee & Sandwich. Ossipee Lake is home to some of the rare animals and species that were at one time common in New Hampshire.

Ossipee Lake offers one public boat launch located in Center Ossipee. White Lake State Park is located in Tamworth or enjoy a quick swim and the two public beaches. There are 10 different species of fish here including: lake trout, land-locked salmon, small and largemouth bass, rainbow trout, chain pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, brown bullhead and sunfish. 

There are 4 commonly known trails around Lake Ossipee with beginner and advanced hikes available. You'll also find an assortment of nature preserves located in various towns around the Lake. Lake Ossipee unlocks the beauty of New Hampshire and shows of some of the rare elements once seen all around the state of New Hampshire.
